Rent and Service Charges
The rent and service charge payable is dependent on the type of accommodation offered. Housing Benefit (HB) payments will meet most of these charges. Once in receipt of HB, none of these charges are passed onto the referring authority. A small weekly amount is payable by the client, this is dependent on the HB assessment. All tenants in the semi-independent schemes are responsible for paying their utility bills and are supported to do so.
Care and Support Charges
The referring authority is responsible for the cost of care and support services. In some cases the referring authority may make payments directly to Paradise Independent Living (PIL). In other cases the service user may make payments to PIL through their individual budget or direct payment.
The cost of the care or support service is dependent on the outcome of an assessment. After which costs are negotiated dependent on the assessed need.
