MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS

We have an expertise of successfully working with adults at risk with a mental health problem, challenging behaviour and a forensic history (on S37/41) or who are ex offenders.

The aim is to ensure our clients feel highly valued by providing high quality accommodation and support services that enhances their overall quality of life.  All our supported living schemes offer a homely environment that promotes dignity, feelings of self worth and a progressive route to increased independence. A holistic approach ensures that our tenants receive a range of other services. These include structured and informal activities in-house, therapeutic interventions, access to recreational and educational facilities.

We strongly believe that promoting a sense of belonging in a warm, supportive and structured environment is paramount to our work with service users. As our experience with this client group has shown, many have never experienced living in a stable family. Our overall work is centred on interventions that improve each person’s ability to function in the community, whilst taking responsibility for themselves and others. The philosophy of our care & support services work emphasises:

  • Common sense
  • Practical needs
  • Personal development
  • Re-enablement

The emphasis is geared towards the prevention of placement breakdown and hospitalisation and a progressive route towards independence. This has proved extremely successful with the assistance of the various health and social care professionals who regularly provide input into the care of our clients.
